After watching this episode, I wasn’t overly enthusiastic about it but I saw some definite seeds being sowed for future episodes. Overall, it had some nice moments for the Hope Valley community!
So, come along and read with me!
Elizabeth & Nathan: a teacher in all of us!
This week we saw Elizabeth and Nathan honing in on their teaching abilities.
They leaned on each other for the right words and encouragement. For example, Elizabeth telling Nathan to find a “win” for Oliver. And Nathan telling Elizabeth that she would make an “excellent teacher” and more than likely her students have gone off to do great things (This is interesting as we will see a former student soon… Earl Wyatt. Has he gone off to do wonderful things or will he cause trouble? We shall see!).
After watching Oliver in this episode, I think he is a good “kid”. Not sure why Hargraves is giving him a hard time. He may be awkward at times but seems to be incredibly smart and detailed oriented. He just needed someone like Nathan to give him a chance to shine! Definitely a forensic investigator in the works!
We also saw Elizabeth give Allie some good advice about the future as Allie doesn’t know where she fits in with her friends. For example, Elizabeth tells Allie that “journeys don’t always start with a destination.” Take it from Elizabeth, as she took a long “journey” to find her great love. Not a destination she first saw right away. So Allie has plenty of time to decide what she wants to pursue. Although, why is Allie not pursuing her poetry or mathematics? It seems as if she has found another interest, zoology? Whatever it may be, we also saw Allie and Oliver get a bit closer as they played tag together and joked around the dinner table. Nathan and Elizabeth better brace themselves because this friendship may turn into something more. Teachers may have to step in as parents!
Lucas & Lee: let bygones be bygones?
Will this partnership prove possible? Lee and Lucas were butting heads this week. But honestly, they both made good points. Lee tells Lucas his word has to count or he is just another politician. That hurt! But truth sometimes is a hard pill to swallow but it came from a friend. As for Lucas, he is just trying to see the National Park from the other points of view. Edie made some valid points considering the cattlemen (she looked a bit star struck over Lucas! Wish we saw more between Lucas and Edie. Not sure how I feel about the pairing just yet). Unfortunately, the rift made Lee split and head back home leaving Lucas with Edwin as an adviser. I think a trip to Hope Valley may be in order for Lucas!
Hope Valley Community: radio show, marriage mishaps and hazelnuts!
Rosemary finally had an audience to perform in front of and our actress was able to take a bow in the saloon! And although she had some nerves, she was able to pull off a successful show with the help from her friends!
Mike and Mei returned home from their honeymoon and they weren’t over the moon in love! It got pretty icy at times but they managed to figure out that it is better to be happy than right!
Henry and those hazelnuts! I have to be honest here, I don’t care for this storyline. I think the writers are limiting Henry’s character and this part of him is a bit boring in my opinion. I get it, he wants to slow down but he has so much more to offer. Lucas could sure use his help! But we shall see how this goes.
Overall, this was a community filled episode that had much lighter tones than the first episode. Thanks for reading! Until next time!

Great points!
I really loved this episode, for me it was just an all round feel good vibe.
I loved little things like the hitting the hazelnuts to the beat of the music.
I love what you said about Lee and Lucas, both had good and fair points. Lucas can't afford to go back on his word but he also can't afford to alienate people either. It's a fine line he treads and he has to work with the bigger picture in view, not an easy task.
I'm hoping for great things for him, for them all!
